Man, what a weekend for basketball. If you didn’t watch any this weekend, then you missed it. Check out Sportscenter today because it is about all they are talking about. It was possibly the most exciting regional finals in history. Between 2 overtime games, and 1 double overtime game. It was just ridiculous as to how much fun it was. There was one sequence in the Michigan State/ Kentucky game that has gotten so overlooked that I was just going crazy over. I don’t remember who took the fast break shot, but there was a fast break for KY and Kelvin Torbert threw his stuff off the backboard and then went down to the other end and pulled this ridiculous shot by going up on one side of the backboard and then making the shot on the other side in a Jordanesque type move. It was a crazy sequence that is getting overlooked by the shot at the end by Patrick Sparks and the 2 overtimes that followed. It was a great weekend to watch basketball and I don’t think any of the games are gonna be blowouts this weekend so it should be fun.

BCS Championship Game

Sports

I don’t know how many of you watched the game between USC and Oklahoma last night. It was alot of fun watching USC route the Sooners. Although it was boring as sports goes because it was a route. There was no excitement because after the first quarter you knew who was going home with the trophy. So halfway through the second quarter I remembered who was doing the halftime show and it was not the show I was hoping for. Trace Adkins, Ashlee Simpson, and Kelly Clarkson did not do the job I thought they would. The mix was terrible so you couldn’t hear the singers when they were singing. During Kelly Clarkson’s song you could hear her background singer a lot louder than you could the person that was supposed to be singing the melody of the song. That was terrible. Kelly Clarkson sounded good though, when you could hear her. She was by far the best of the bunch. I almost fell asleep during Trace Adkins’ song and could not wait for him to get off of the stage. Again, the mix was terrible so I couldn’t wait for it to be over. And then there is Ashlee Simpson. I will say that her album is great. I am pretty sure she didn’t write hardly any of the songs, but it is good nonetheless. Her song was terrible all around. She was singing, and had her backup track going which she couldn’t stay with so it was very rushed. Then she tried to perform for the whole stadium which didn’t take too great to her performance as you could tell by the chorus of boos that resounded throughout the stadium as soon as she got done. I felt sorry for them though, because that was just humiliating, and what could have been a good marketing move turned into a terrible experience. I just hope that nothing like that ever happens to me when I make it big. :)

That is what I shot tonight. We played basketball after playing a couple of games of racquetball. You know how some nights you get the ball and you just see what you should do and then it happens? That was tonight for me. If i didn’t shoot what I say I shot, then I shot something close to it. It was a lot of fun. Some nights I can’t hit, but tonight was nothing like that. I felt good and feel good after a game like that. Too bad games like that don’t happen very often.

UT Volunteers

Sports

Okay, i love watching UT football, but it drives me nuts how every single game seems to be close. True that it makes for wanting to watch the whole game, but it drives me nuts all the up and down that goes into each UT game. We can’t have a blowout game. It never fails that it is a close game if UT is playing. To be such a highly touted team, they can never put the game away until there is about 2 minutes left in the game. Just one of my raves.
