Mindy Smith : One Moment More

Music

Mindy_smith_one_moment_more Once again, i heard a song off of an album and thought that could be a good album. I was right. I heard "Come to Jesus" off of Mindy Smith’s new album One Moment More. It is a really cool song. It has a very bluegrass feel to it. The one time Knoxville native has a very clean and smooth sound. She even has a cover of Dolly Parton’s "Jolene" where Dolly sings backup. It is a great album. It seemed like I had heard her before, and i realized where. But then I realized it was from the half season ender of Smallville. They had played a beautiful song called "One Moment More" that I had forgotten about. The album really is amazing and I would not be surprised if next year she came away from the grammies with more than one award.  If you like the Allison Krauss/ bluegrass sound, then you need to check this album out.

Marc Broussard: Carenco

Music

B0002iqig001 I heard his song "Home" once on the radio and bought the album. Really didnt realize he was a young white kid. It had way too much blues to be a white guy singing. Really cool album. it is hard to decide what genre it is though. Sounds like Stevie Wonder/ Muddy Waters/ Maroon 5. "Home" is still my favorite track and if you listen to that song, you will want it as well.

John Mayer: Heavier Things

Music

Heavier_things This album is really good. It has a very calming feeling to it. Think Dave Matthews without the crazy guitar and stuff going on. Instead of having the complexity of Dave, he has the calming effect of Norah Jones.
