That could mean Google revolution or Google Solution. Whichever you want to call it. Here is the reason for the title. This weekend, I was checking out the Google Satellite like I said before. And I thought, "What are some of the other Google Projects?". I looked on the Google Blog to find out what was going on. I was pleasantly surprised that there were quite a few tools that I hadn’t heard of that were killer sweet. So they referenced a couple of tools that sounded really good.
The first one was Picasa2. It is a photo organizing and editing tool that you can get FOR FREE!!! It works surprisingly well and is great for looking at multiple photos from a large photo collection.
The next item that I thought was really cool was the Google SMS. Here is the deal, Google thought about how you could use your cell phone to search the web. They didn’t ad in how to surf the web cause we all know that is kind of unlikely at this point. But the way it works is you can send a text message to 46645 or GOOGL. You can search Froogle (the online price comparison engine), check local movie times, phone book entries, weather, definitions, or even get trivia-type answers. It is really cool and I think they really thought it through how it could actually be a useful tool.
These are the coolest tools that they have right now. But there are a bunch more that are kind of under construction. You can check those out at Google Labs. I know it sounds like a plug for Google, but I am getting no money from them, unless they just want to give me some, so take my word on this, these are good solid services that shouldn’t be overlooked.
