And I’m an idiot

So I am supposed to be the tech guy in most circles I run in. Well, sometimes you forget about the easy stuff that can make things work so much better if you check them instead of delving into the difficult items.

Here is the deal, I got a new computer around the first of the year and have had a constant hiss on my speakers ever since. It has been driving me nuts. But for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out what it was. I checked all of my wires, even tried new components. And got to the point where I put in a new sound card and chalked it up to interference. So I am sitting here at the computer and reboot my machine to find out that it quit doing that. So I think for a second and realize that it may be something software related. (But I have already updated all drivers, so that can’t be it.) But I try anyway. So I go to my volume control and mute each item. I get to the last thing, the speaker connection and the hissing stops. So I have spent all this time and energy on something that a click of my mouse could fix. So yes, I am an idiot.
