To Podcast or Not to Podcast

Okay, I have been a fan of Podcasting for a long time. Let me refresh your memory about what podcasting is. Obviously, the Pod in podcasting refers to iPod. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t download it and listen without an iPod. You can download the MP3 file and just burn it onto a CD if you want to and listen on your way to work. What a podcast is, is kind of like talk radio about a certain subject. NPR has their own podcasts that are simply segments of their show put together into a 30 minute or one hour block, and it is about a certain subject. I listen to the movie podcast all the time. I would say that, on average, I listen to about 20 hours a week of podcasts. I listen to mostly movie and technology related podcasts. They are what appeals to me.
So, here is the big question. Should I do a podcast? I have thought about it quite a few times, but I don’t know that it would be very good with me doing it. So, I am asking the people who regularly read this page to answer my question about whether I should do a podcast or not. I might do it on my own, I might do it with someone else, I really don’t know at this point. What do you think? Obviously, it would probably cover my two favorite subjects, movies and technology, or just one of those. And even if everyone on here says that I should do one, it doesn’t mean that I will. It simply means that I will have to take a harder look at it and see whether it is feasible or not. So, leave me a comment or email me and let me know if you think I should do a podcast or not. If the people that I know aren’t going to listen, then there is no way people I don’t know will. So drop me a line in one form or another and tell me whether it would be a good idea or not.
I will be on vacation for the next week, so unless I can find a wireless access point nearby to use, then I will not be posting for the next week. So that gives ample time to get enough responses to tell me whether it is a good idea or not. I’ll let you know how things went on the trip when I get back. Have a good week.
