This is so much fun. My dad and myself spent about 2 hours playing on this and simply stopped because of the fact that it was almost midnight. I know that Google has had their map portion of their service for awhile, but this week they added a new segment of it with satellite photos to go along with the maps. We figured out that the photos were taken somewhere between a year and two years ago by the local construction and what had been finished and what had not been started yet. It is really fun to find your house, the house of someone you know, or explore some place that you don’t know. We were checking out Florida where my stepmom is right now. You can look up an address on Google Maps and then click the satellite link on the right and it will take you to the satellite view of whatever it is you are looking at. Then you can move around the map by zooming in and out, or moving the screen by dragging the part of the map that you want to see more of. It is more fun than a barrel of monkeys, and I like monkeys. Seriously, check out your house. It may not be exactly on, but it will be really close so that you can find it. I think I may travel to Italy tonight. Well, have fun mapping.
