I am a big fan of podcast. What is that? Well, it is like a radio style talk show that you download and listen to on CD, mp3 player, or on the computer. These consist of very produced shows like The Daily Source Code with Adam Curry, shows populated by workers of corporations like TVGuide.com, and the most entertaining ones are the ones random people who have blogs and simply have an interest in a certain subject. And when I say a certain subject, I mean it. There are ones about movies, tv, photography, technology, fitness, music, really whatever you can imagine.
And up until yesterday, I would go to Podcast Alley and look at the genre I was interested in and find something I liked. The reason I say up until yesterday is because the new version of iTunes has been released and includes a quick and easy way to find and subscribe to podcasts of all types.
And not only that, but there is a new program out there for actually recording podcastas as well. It is still in beta, but it has been released and it seems like it works pretty well. It is called Castblaster and is a pretty neat little interface. Don’t be expecting a podcast from me. Even though I am interested in doing one, I just don’t know that I can fill the time with interesting items that people might actually listen to. Plus, it isn’t like I would actually have time to fit something else into my schedule. So, just a little tidbit for you in case you were on the outside and didn’t know about the whole podcast/audio blog movement.
