Must see movies for kids

The British Film Institute has put together a list of the top 10 and top 50 movies that kids should watch by the time they are 14 years old. Now, I know that it is a british film list so there are a lot of movies that aren’t the standards we go by in America, but here are the only ones that struck a chord with me from the top 50 list.
- Beauty and the Beast
- Adventures of Robin Hood
- Back to the Future
- E.T.
- Edward Scissorhands
- Finding Nemo
- It’s A Wonderful Life
- Jason and the Argonauts
- King Kong
- Oliver Twist
- The Outsiders
- The Princess Bride
- Raider of the Lost Ark
- Romeo & Juliet
- The Secret Garden
- Singin’ In The Rain
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- Star Wars
- To Kill A Mockingbird
- The Wizard of Oz
That’s it. Those are the only ones that I could say from experience that kids should see from the list. Now, you will notice that there are a lot that aren’t on there that really should be.

Okay, so my list, I think, is a little more expansive than the original, but I don’t think you could disagree with me on 90% of the movies on there. I mean, they are a right of passage to see those. You probably also notice that my list consists of a lot of disney movies. That isn’t on purpose, other than they just make quality kids films.
