Worship in big church

I know I sound like a 10 year old when I say that, but I still refer to it that way. I can’t help it. I have always gone to the alternative service or led worship at the children’s or youth service, so I refer to it as I always have. This morning, at First Baptist Maryville, the team who leads worship on Wednesdays got to lead worship in "Big Church". I thought it went well. Although I did find it amusing that a lady who was sitting front and center about 4 rows back had her hands on her ears the majority of the time. But part of our thing was that we didn’t want to negotiate our sound and style for the sake of the service. Instead we wanted to worship and lead worship in the way that we do on Wednesdays. So hopefully I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed it.
You pagans and your guitars in church…
I know exactly what you mean, I lead worship in our evening service, and we are loud and proud!! We have some awesome older people who have protested about the sound, but stayed anyway and no longer kick up a fuss 🙂 The funny thing is, when we get visitors who aren’t church people at all (and are the age of my grandparents) they comment on how awesome the volume is and think its a great place for young people!!
