The Weatherman Review

Weatherman

Nicholas Cage is the weatherman on one of the biggest TV
stations in

Chicago

.
His father, played by Michael Caine, is the perfect father. Cage tries to live
up to the life that his father had before him and become the man that he
believes his father wants him to be. There are multiple parallels brought up by
the writing in this film. Between dropping the fluff in our lives in favor of
something more substantial and meaningful compared to the weatherman instead of
just the weather. And with the parallel of predicting life compared to
predicting the weather, things can become not what you wanted out of life, but
you have to make what you can out of it. The film is depressing, but thought
provoking. It could have been better, but it draws the emotions out of you in
the way that it tries to, so it does the job well. I give this film a 6 out of
10.
