Flightplan Review

FlightplanThis movie starring Jodie Foster, Peter Sarsgaard, and Sean Bean takes place on a plane where Foster loses her child, but tries to figure out whether her daughter is actually lost, or if she has lost her mind. Jodie Foster does well in intense roles. It is turning into the only role that she is getting cast for. With Panic Room and Contact, she is becoming one of the few strong women who can be cast for roles like these. Sean Bean’s character was seriously underused, and as such, you have the feeling that he needs to be more integral to what is going on. Sarsgaard, as always, steals the show and really sells his character. The movie is a little beyond belief, but it is a quality film that I think most people would enjoy. The one thing that stinks is that the plot is very similar to The Forgotten starring Julianne Moore, so you kind of see where it is going and it isn’t anything new to you. Still, the acting is solid, and the dialogue is very thorough and seems realistic in the situations that the characters are put into. I give Flightplan a 7 out of 10.
