As you have probably noticed, I haven’t posted much in the last couple of weeks. Things are just crazy busy for me right now. I have a lot on my plate that doesn’t leave me a whole lot of time to play on the computer and put up my entries. I know it doesn’t take long, but it just isn’t in the forefront of my mind. School is wearing me out, plus I am studying for my Microsoft Windows XP Certification, and there is the whole work thing that comes in to play as well. And it doesn’t look like things are going to slow down for about a year for me. Because of transfer credits and test-outs and such, I am not on the same track as the other people in my classes. They are planning on graduating next December, whereas, I have enough credits where I can graduate next June, but if I push myself I can graduate next March. But to graduate next March, at this point, I will have to take 16 credit hours to go along with my 40 hour a week job. I have been taking 12 hours til now, and believe I can take 16 hours. I haven’t had much of a social life since starting back to school, but if I decided to push myself with the 16 hours I will have no life. Because not only will those things be going on, but also I am planning on leading worship for a new service that is starting at First Baptist Maryville in August. Now, one thing that does help is that from here on out, my classes will be all online, which means I can take them whenever I want. But the problem with that is that there is a lot more self-discipline and a lot more work. With the in-house classes, there is a 3-5 hour session of sitting in class, and about an hour or so of homework. WIth the online classes, there is about 7-9 hours of homework. This way they can justify the non classroom experience. It is a killer, but the flexibility is a lot better for those of us who do work full-time and have certain other things going on that would otherwise conflict. I believe I am going to try and do the 16 hours next quarter and see if I can handle it, if not, then i can slip back to 12 hours for the next 3 quarters and graduate in June. Not too much of a difference, but after you have been in school so long, you are ready to be done. Hopefully one day that will happen.
Aaron, Aaron, Aaron, If I had you with me now I would box your cute little ears. Listen, life is too short to run wide open all time! Some times it is necessary, and I know you can sleep when you get old—but take the fewer hours, graduate in June, and give yourself a break (a tiny one, at that)! You are doing many great things, you may have to choose the better of the good for a while and let something else go or you won’t give your best to any one thing. I know you feel you have been in school forever, so what is a little more time to do your better work, if it is going to be the best thing for your future? Simmer down now. I love you! Susan
