Snakes on a Plane Review

Rocky Horror Picture show became a classic not because of
its quality of film making, but more because of the enjoyment and audience
interaction. Snakes on a Plane falls into that same category. As expected, Samuel
L. Jackson gives a very fun performance as Nelville Flynn, also known as Samuel
L. Jackson. The movie is a lot of fun,
and as long as you don’t expect a cinematic marvel, then you will have a good
time at this film. It was really one of the most fun theater experiences that I
have ever had. You really have to see this film in a theater with a lot of
people to get the full experience. I give Snakes on a Plane an 8 out of 10.

Samuel L. Jackson plays Officer Nelville Flynn. He is an
agent who is trying to protect an eyewitness to a crime in

Hawaii

. The person that the witness has seen
do the bad deed, has a lot of power and apparently a lot of snakes. So on the
trip from

Hawaii

to

California

, snakes are put on board to take
out the witness, as well as everyone else on board.

On first glance of the name, you think this movie is going
to be horrible. Then you read the premise, and it doesn’t change your mind. But
then when you realize that it is all on purpose, you start to understand that
it isn’t about being a great action movie. Instead, it is about having a good
time at the theater, and that is exactly what Snakes on a Plane accomplishes.

We went to the sneak preview opening the night before the
official opening, and this is the group of people who really wanted to be at
this film. There was no one there who didn’t really want to be there, and it
showed. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of SOAP, but I did expect it to be
fun. I wasn’t sure whether it was going to be a tongue in cheek comedy, or if
it was going to be an action flick with a chip on its shoulder. It gave me a
little bit of both. From the time the opening credits came on screen, the crowd
became engaged in the film. When

Jackson

came on screen the first time, the crowd cheered and roared from excitement
about what was about to happen. I really can’t express just how enjoyable this
film was into words. If you are afraid of snakes, then you probably don’t want
to see this film because every imaginable way that a person fears being bitten,
happens in this movie, no matter how ridiculous.

Snakes on a Plane is not about winning Oscars, but instead
is about the audience getting involved in a medium that normally makes you sit
back and just watch. Between all of the marketing that has taken place on the
internet and the marketing on TV, this film will be seen by a very large
audience. The only question is whether this is what the people want to see. I
know it is what I wanted out of the film, but that is just my opinion. Go see
it soon and make sure that when you do, you are ready to enjoy yourself and not
think, but instead react to a film that is made for people who want to be a
part of the film. And don’t forget your audience participation list. I give Snakes on a Plane an 8 out of 10.
